Millionaires from Birth

Millionaires from Birth

It is true. If you are a Myanmar citizen born and living in Myanmar, do not forget that you have been a Myanmar Kyat billionaire since birth. In fact, you are already wealthy, possessing between 1 billion and 8 billion Kyats.

Don’t believe it? If you don’t, try going to Thailand or India to sell a kidney. In Thailand, you could get around 800 Lakhs (up to 80 million Kyats), and in India, around 180 Lakhs (18 million Kyats). That is why I call you a millionaire.

What is truly heartbreaking is that within our Myanmar families, people are now actually selling their kidneys. Our lives have fallen so deeply into poverty. Have you noticed? Selling one's own flesh and blood is no longer just about young Myanmar daughters becoming victims of the country’s poverty—forced into becoming illegal mistresses or sex workers.

Now, people are literally cutting open their chests to sell their livers and kidneys through brokers. They do this just to afford a small shelter for their families, to buy back farmland seized by the military, or because they were forcibly evicted by municipal authorities and left homeless. Amidst all this, sons are being forced back into the military as deserters or are dying because of the war... What more evidence is needed to show that all of this is happening solely because of the military group's desire for absolute power? Please, tell me.

With tears of deep sorrow, let me say... "We are millionaires."
